Be a prom diva for less

Goodwill Industries of Lower South Carolina wants every girl to feel like a Diva at her prom. Goodwill will host a “Diva Day” to show prom-goers the amazing formal dresses, purses, jewelry and shoes our retail stores offer at low, low prices. Diva Day will be held on Saturday, April 12 at the James Island retail store (936 Folly Road) from 9:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. and at the North Charleston retail store (6607 Rivers Avenue) from 2:00 – 5:00 p.m.

High school girls will be able to try on prom dresses and pick out the perfect accessories at Diva Day. Avis MacLellan, a former New York model and owner of The Model’s Studio, will be on hand to offer beauty and fashion tips. In addition, one lucky diva will win a free prom dress.  

“We want every girl to have the opportunity to feel beautiful at her prom,” said Tina Marshall, Vice President of Corporate Relations for Goodwill Industries of Lower South Carolina. “Many of the prom gowns that are donated look brand new and some still have the tags attached. Diva Day is a great opportunity for girls to find the perfect prom dress at an affordable price.”

Goodwill representatives will be visiting local high schools to invite students to participate in Diva Day. However, all high school students are invited to come out and join us and enter to win a free prom dress.

Not only will Diva Day help every girl make lasting prom memories, but over 90 percent of Goodwill revenue helps fund our mission of helping people achieve their full potential through the dignity and power of work.
